Microsoft has recently released System Center 2019. With that I finally upgraded my lab to Windows Server 2019. However I am still running System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2016 which means that the new Operating Systems are not supported. So today I will be upgrading SCVMM from 2016 to 2019

As usual before continue, please perform a backup of the SCVMM Server before proceeding with the upgrade.

Backing up SCVMM

1) Launch SCVMM Console --> Navigate to Settings --> Click Backup

2) Enter a Path, click OK

Removing SCVMM 2016

1) Launch Program and Features --> Select System Center Virtual Machine Manager --> Uninstall

2) Select Remove Features

3) Select VMM Management Server and VMM Console, click Next

4) Select Retain Database, click Next

5) Select Uninstall

6) Click Close

Installing SCVMM 2019

1) Mount and Extract the ISO, after the Extraction is completed, navigate to C:\System Center Virtual Machine Manager

Launch Setup.exe

2) Click Install

3) Select VMM manager Server, click Next

4) Enter the required information, click Next

5) Check "I have read, understood...", click Next

6) Click Next

7) Select the option based on your requirement, Click Next

8) Click Next

9) Click Next
Note: if there are any prerequisites not met, once it's done, Click on Check prerequisites again to clear the requirements

10) Select Existing Database

11) Click Yes

12) Click Next

13) Click Next

14) Click Next

15) Click Next

16) Click Install, Once Completed Click Close and you are done!
